Hewlett-Woodmere Union Free School District

The Hewlett-Woodmere Union Free School District, District 14, is located on the South Shore of Long Island. It encompasses Hewlett, the villages of Hewlett Bay Park, Hewlett Neck, and HewlettHarbor, and parts of Woodmere, Lynbrook, Woodsburgh, and Valley Stream.

The district is looking for an exceptional candidate who empowers “the next generation for the success of life” in Pre-K through 12th grade.

Educating Hewlett-Woodmere’s 2,800 students while understanding the needs of the district’s students who attend private schools is an important quality for the next leader while being motivational to their staff and community, sensitive to the entire community’s needs, and someone who is present and participates in the district’s events.

Hewlett-Woodmere seeks a Superintendent candidate who is a strong communicator and problem solver. They should encourage providing “an engaging curriculum in a caring, student-centered learning environment that is designed to maximize individual potential, cultivate character, and celebrate successes.”

Candidates must possess or be eligible for New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or New York State School District Leader (SDL) certification.
